I have been patiently waiting for Shoot Q to announce new updated features. Clearly the system is outdated. Nearly everyone I know has left for 17 Hats or other services that offer newer features at lower cost. I understand it take time to overhaul a existing platform. It is lot tricker then simply creating something from scratch. My question is this. When will Shoot Q share with it's customers new features they are adding? Can you please share with us your vision for the future. This is my final attempt before I move on.

Chad > Hi Todd,
We are currently working on overhauling the look and feel of the website and making it more user friendly. It will also be more mobile responsive. We're not only redesigning the front end, but also the back end architecture which will make it easier to apply updates to the site in the future. As you can guess, this is a big job and will take many months to complete but we will be showing off a prototype at WPPI in a couple of weeks. For those studios who won't be attending this conference, we will most likely send out an email detailing our progress later on in March. The new site will allow for greater customization but if there are specific features that you think should be added to the system please email our development team at ideas@shootq.com.
Thanks,
Geoff -
Dana Lynn > Is there any news on the above update mentioned? You had said an update email would be sent in March which was months ago. Did we miss something? Can you tell us when to expect the release of the new site?

Chad > Hi Dana,
Thanks for inquiring about the new platform. Our developers are still working hard on the new system. We are not only re-designing the front-end but also the underlying architecture so it will take many months to complete this project. We don't have an exact ETA but we expect to have a beta version available towards the end of the year.
We did send out an email back in March. It included this video which will show you the direction we are heading: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx1oJViVZws
I'll speak to the marketing team to see if we can send more frequent email updates so you have a better sense of our progress. Stay tuned!
Thanks,

Francis Gerard > Geoffrey,
Progressive studios have young blood. They don't wait for improvements. Pictage is dead. LiveBooks is on life support. You have a founder base, and I hope your new release of ShootQ is worth our wait. But honestly it has to double down and blow away 17 hats or Studio Ninja. Honestly, if I wasn't a ShootQ founding member, the price point of your competitions platforms would be obvious.
FYI: " Many months to complete this project. We don't have an exact ETA" is not what anyone wants to read, its what Pictage said.

As a long time and "founding member" , and although the next release of shootQ looks good, Just a few thoughts:- As a studio that does a variety of multimedia projects, l need to have multiple locations over a broad date/timeline for all shoot types. This should apply to Wedding and portrait shooters (yawn); but would definitively improve the platforms use for multimedia/film content providers (future)
- The "Variables" options for emails, contracts, invoices ,ect are pasted due for an update! Add a user interface so I can create my own "Variables" (even just to change the '70'ish label of "Groom" to, or just add "Partner") The limitations of the "Variables" across the ShootQ platform are old old school, and reflect the beginning of ShootQ when I bought in, over a decade ago.
- Integration's: Consider reaching out to equipment rental services like Magnanimos. With all the travel restrictions out there when we produce out side our box, we get EQ shipped to site.
Be progressive and inclusive, to the direction of my studio, and others are heading in...more than just "weddings" its multimedia. The need to readdress, is a key to future functionality, while keeping and attracting new user members to a dynamic platform that keeps their production online and seamless for their clients.FrancisFrank Konrath Photography & Film

Dana Lynn > Hello Again,
Seven months have passed since my last inquiry about the new platform. We are really anticipating this update to help us be more successful/smooth in the coming year. It's so disappointing that no new improvements have been made, or any announcement for that matter.
Additionally, during my last call to tech support, I asked when we should be expecting some news about this and your representative said she had no clue what I was talking about! Can we please have a real update on whats going on?
I think its really unfair to promise change to your customers and not deliver - if its not going to happen, please let us know so we can move on to other options that will keep up with growth. -
Chad > Hi Dana,
We have been periodically sending out emails regarding the progress the ShootQ NextGen platform to the entire user base. The last one was sent out on November 29. I'm not sure why you aren't receiving them but I'll look into it for you.
The current status is that we expect to have a beta version of the new the platform available by the end of January. We are trying to re-engineer 10 years of code in less than one year which is a big task but we are doing our best to make it happen.
If you want to join the Beta group, please submit your request to nextgen@shootq.com. You'll need to submit it with a personal email address rather than a general "info@" address (for example, use dana@danalynnphoto.com rather than info@danalynnphto.com). The beta group will allow you to give feedback on the new system and also see updates as they are being worked on.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks,
Geoff Dunn
