Excluding some add-ons during booking?

Hello,

I'm new to shootq - so this could be an easy solve :)

I woud like for my clients, on booking their wedding package, to be able to add-on "extras" (engagement sessions, extra album books, etc).  That in and of itself isn't the problem though - as I can see how that's done.

What I'd like to know if I can do is create certain "types" or "categories" of add-ons that certain packages can add on, and certain packages can't.   This is because some of my products (extra albums, for instance) are less expensive for my higher priced packages, and more expensive for my lower priced packages.  

In the end - I just need the ability to filter the add-ons that clients have access to, rather than just opening the flood gates up for all of them.  Is this possible?

  The simple answer is no, there is no way to customize what add-ons each individual client can see. The only way I can see to do what you are asking is to upgrade your ShootQ account to get the multiple pricing pages. You would then set up the multiple pricing pages for each package with their add-ons.

  So apprecaited.  You're correct - that seems to be the need.  As a new user, I'm loving the shootq service... but little things like this surprise me a bit.  I wouldn't have thought that for what I was paying I would have to upgrade to a whole new plan just to get this feature.  I honestly feel it should be thrown in.

  I completely agree. What I'm even more surprised about is that someone booking a newborn session can add on a boudoir book. I don't wnat to have separate brands, that's a pain in the butt, not to mention more expensive. This might very well be a deal breaker for me... I'm looking at two other services and if they allow me to have custom menus for add ons, or for me to just be able to select which products each client can add on, that'd be preferred.

   

  Another situation I have run into is a wedding client that is out of town. They are not able to add on a PHOTO BOOTH because I can't transport my backdrop....and other instances like this... but yet it's offered because it's an add-on and I do want the client to be able to add on albums and such. My max hours of coverage is 10, but I want my 8-hour packages to be able to add on the hours, but I don't want the 10-hour clients to be able to add on the hours....so how would that be fixed? I'm so frustrated!!!!

  Wow! This is what I was thinking as well. Basically they give you one price list and then you have to upgrade to get more price lists. I think that most of us shoot more then just one type of photography and of course dont want the same stuff showing to everyone. I agree it should be included in the first price break. After all it not like we are paying $9.99 or something.

  It sounds like there are two questions:

  1.  Can I have specific add-ons for certain packages.

  The short answer to this is no.  We don't have a way to associate specific add-ons and separate pricing for individual packages.  This sounds particularly messy, but an interesting idea nonetheless.

  2.  Can I have different add-on options for different bookings.

  Yes, but you'll need to choose a pricing page for that particular booking.  Startup accounts get one pricing page, Studio : 3, Hub : 6.  And remember too that a Hub level account is now free with a Pictage Pro level account.

  @Dana - I see that you're on the Studio level so you get three pricing pages.

  What if I don't use your pricing pages? 

  I would like to be able to just check mark the add-ons that I'd like to add to each booking.  I offer an engagement session as an add on, and as part of 2 out of three of my packages. I don't want the client that I've ALREADY SOLD the engagement session to, to feel like I'm trying to sell her/him another one.  Just because its on my wedding pricing page doesn't mean that all my clients need it.  This seems to be very basic.  My solution is to simply NOT let anyone have ANY add ons, and honestly, that's just lame.  Please help with this shootQ.  Try my check mark idea, I think you'll like it!  Thanks

  Adi,

  Not sure if you're a current shootq user or not - as a lot of what you're describing can already be done.  There actually is a check-mark on the booking page, where you can uncheck add-ons alltogether.  

  I only have the one pricing add-on page - and like some others have mentioned - it's not very useful because I want some packages to have some add-ons at a certain prices, and others to be different.  I literally un-check the add-ons completely now, its a feature I can't use because of the limitations.

  thanks. yes, I am a shootQ user, and that is exactly my point. the only way to get around the inefficacy of the add-on function is to disable it completely, and that seems like a total waste.  It seems that it should be that for each package you can check off individual add-ons rather than an entire add-on page.  There is nothing worse than redundancy in my opinion when it comes to clients. No one wants to feel that they are being sold. So if a client has already BEEN SOLD an engagement session, it should be an option to remove it from their "add-ons". I promise that NO ONE wants 2 engagement sessions.

  forget different pricing for different clients- that would be easy if we could check the add-ons individually.  You would just create the different priced products under a different name, with a different price, and you'd be good to go.... Man, I wish I knew even a little bit of coding, I'd have this problem solved in a jiffy ;)

  This should be a simple fix for ShootQ to make for us... isn't this program about making our workflows easier? We should be able to customize the booking and add on's for each client. This flaw is a huge problem for me when using ShootQ. It makes me look unorganized, unprofessional, and inconsistent to my clients.

  One thing I've learned with working with companies like this.... is ASK and you shall receive. Maybe if enough of us make a point to ask, they'll work it out internally and FIX it for us!!!!!

  Hi Adi,

  I see that you are on the Studio Plan, so you have access to 3 pricing pages. Even if you do not wish to send these pricing pages to your client, you can still populate them with add-ons. Once you add the add-ons to the pricing page, you can even turn public pricing off again. The pricing page data will remain. This means that you have access to 5 add-on options for your client's poposals. : 1)No Add-ons 2)All Add-ons 3)Add-ons from Pricing page 1 4)Add-ons from Pricing page 2 5)Add-ons from Pricing page 3

  You mentioned "NO ONE wants 2 engagement sessions." You are correct, that redundancy will remain unless you take special steps to avoid it, but if, by accident, your client were to select an engagement session as an add-on and it was already in their package, ShootQ would actually warn them before they were allowed to proceed.

  If you guys still feel strongly about wanting more options for add-ons, I would like to encourage you to make a formal proposal in our Feature Request forum so that others can vote up your suggestion. The more details you can include about how you would use this feature, the better.

  Thanks for the reply Alice.  I will put in a formal proposal. It sounds like everyone hear is pretty serious about it.  Thanks for the work-around, I will try that and see how it works. However, I do feel strongly that it would make more sense to be able to check add-ons on and off individually for each contract... Thanks again!

  Hey guys, this thread has been around for awhile... But the principals behind it I think are still solid. I would VERY much like to see this implemented as well. Alice suggested a feature request would be a good way to get this rolling. As far as I can tell, this has not yet been put in as a request. So I did it myself.
