I am curious to know what your favorite gateway for credit card processing is? Auth.net? PayJunction? SkipJack? Beanstream? Let me know!

Authorize.net
What's up Adam!
We're fans of good ol' Authorize.net :)
+1 for authorize.net.
I use paypal and now have a problem sending out invoices
Has anyone tried Square via the iPhone?
What are the rates for authorize.net--is there a monthly fee plus transaction fee?
Thanks!
Anna
Just curious, why do you guys like authorize.net? i have been using paypal but now with shootQ need to figure out which one to use.
I use Google Checkout and haven't had any problems. Easy and quick to setup. They charge 2.9% transaction fee, which I believe is close to the industry standard for CC processing.
Like Chad I too use GoogleCheckout and have since their launch. But the money takes a few days. Anyone switch from Google to Auth.net? I'm curious to know if it's better.
I use Authorize.net and the fees are an amazing rate. Best of all, Authorize.net and Photography Merchant Systems integrates seamlessly into your ShootQ invoices. To your clients, it looks like they pay the invoice right in your ShootQ statement. The other carriers are not synced up to appear this way.
Leeann and others, what is the authorize.net fee structure? I went to the site and it was hard to figure out!
There is a monthly fee on top of transaction fees and a percent, right?
thank you!
Here is the information from the Photography Merchant Systems:
With Photography Merchant Systems, you also get a low rate of $15/ month ($5/month for processing and $10/month for Authorize.net gateway), with an industry low $0.18 per transaction fee. For more details, fill out the attached application or contact Photography Merchant Systems directly.

Ryan was very helpful in setting my Authorize.net account up and running, and he would be able to answer all of your questions on exact rates.
Thanks Leeann - is it a direct deposit when someone pays or does it take 3-5 days for the money to process into your bank account like Google?
It'll still take a few days to hit my bank account, but the great thing with using the Authorize.net (that I forgot to mention) is that it also marks my client invoice as paid immediately. I don't have to do anything but wait for my funds to arrive ;)
I don't have any problems with authorize net, but if you're signing up with them you may want to ask Ryan to use a different back than United back card to handle the transactions. Last year they came out with what the called a OTF (One Time Fee) it was $89 for me. Now this February they are charging it again. I don't know if it's the same fee for everyone, but it's not something that I was made aware of when I first opened my account. So you will want to make sure you're aware of that.
Otherwise, I've been happy with Authorize.net. Leeann, I'm paying $20 a month plus transaction fees. Do you have to be a photographer to get that rate?
Hi Ron,
That's about what I pay, but that may be a question specifically for Ryan. I'm not sure if it's "anyone who uses ShootQ gets the Photography Merchant Account rates" or if you need to operate as a photographer and now, say, a videographer. If I were to bet, I'd say the first, but double check with Ryan on their policies.

We use Payjunction. It's been great so far.
Intuit. It has an iPhone reader now.
Authorize.net via Midwest Transaction Group. PPA members get a nice discount. :)
Man most of these posts are from 2010-2011. So what gateway merchant is currently a great one?
I have a Chase Bank Card Reader but, was thinking of a more direct means of clients using there own means on SQ.
Hi David,
I'm not sure which merchant is the best. It's really dependent on your needs. Authorize.net and PayPal Pro have a lot of extra features. For instance, Authorize.net offers e-checks and recurring billing. And PayPal Pro allows clients to pay via their own paypal account.Square and Stripe are probably the best in terms of simplicity. The most popular ones being used by ShootQ members are Authorize.net, Stripe, and Square. Braintree and PayJunction are other options as well.
Most of these companies charge about 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. And some may charge a monthly fee. There may also be conversion rate fees for Canadian studios. Your best bet is probably to contact those companies directly to find out what they offer and how much they cost.
When considering a new account, you may want to consider the following:
1. How much does it cost per transaction?
2. Are there any monthly fees?
3. Are there any conversion rate fees (for Canadian businesses)?
4. How long does it take to get your money? Is direct deposit an option?
5. What features does the merchant offer?
