New Features and Fixes (April 2, 2013)

Hey Everyone!

We’ve just released the latest updates to Nimbus and ShootQ. We mentioned last month we were doing some "behind the scenes" work which is being unveiled in today's release. Take a look at the latest updates:

  1. New Pictage Products Added – You now have the ability to select from Pictage’s new product lines in your pricing options. Learn More
  2. Introducing The Launch of Our Newest Nimbus Theme – Frostlight! – This long awaited theme was designed to have a clean modern feel. Check out a sample site HERE >>

      Some of the features include:

  • Responsive design – Making it mobile and iPad friendly
  • Image dominant homepage
  • Gallery images are full screen

Minor Updates and Bug Fixes:

  • Internet Explorer 8 issues – The issues clients were having with submitting contact forms, questionnaires and booking online with Internet Explorer 8 have now been resolved.
  • Product Workflow History – All completed dates are now showing up in the history of the shoot’s task tab.
  • Calendar Formatting – We resolved the calendar picker formatting issues that were experienced in newer versions of Chrome.
  • Unicode Characters in Nimbus posts – We resolved this “Not Found” error if the post name included a Unicode Character.
  • Fixed a bug in the CSV Importer
  • Global Search Errors – If the studio had over 1000 contacts, this caused slowness and errors in the Global Search. We’ve optimized this.

Happy Q’ing!

The new template is great however a couple of issues.

    Music will not play.

Images in the slide shows crop even when the check box is unselected.

I have the same issues with images in the slide show.  I don't know about the music as I don't use any on the site.

I'd also really love to have the widgets available on more pages (all except front page)

Integration of ShootQ pricing page is a little wonky, would like more control of the formatting of that page.

    Hello Michelle and Kier-

I just verified the music not working - getting that over to our Developers to correct. Thanks for letting us know.

This theme is built to be full-screen and responsive, that is why the images crop depending on the width and height of the screen.  If you don't like that feature, it might be better to select a different Nimbus theme.

Kier, can you explain what you think is "wonky" about the pricing page?

I'd like to have a little more control of the layout of the page.  When viewed on a wide screen the pricing text extends a little too far.
I really love the whole Nimbus thing and I love the new theme.  It seems to do almost, but not quite everything I'd like it to.
I'm also wondering if there is a way to go back and change the URL for different pages?  With the pricing page it just says "current", then we have pricing pages for different products and it takes the name from the title of the page, but if the title of the page isn't what you would want the URL to be you seem to be stuck.

    Hello Kier-

Since the design is responsive, it is going to scale with the size of the screen.  There isn't a easy way to change your url for the pricing, but there is a simple work around.  You can add a new price list when you choose a name for the price list make it the name that you want in the url.  Once you add it, you can then change the title of the pricing page, but the url will stay the same as you originally named it.

I have a Wordpress blog and I've been trying to go through the process of exporting blog posts from Wordpress and importing them into my new Nimbus site.  I keep getting an error that says that the file I'm uploading is NOT a valid Wordpress.  Is this a known issue and if so is there a work around?

OK, so I finally got my old Wordpress to load, but none of the photos are there.  I have all the text, tags, everything else and empty boxes where the pictures should be, but no pictures.

    Hi Keir,

To have us be able to trouble shoot this for you, can you please submit a ticket with as much information as you can provide?  We will have to take a look "under the hood" to see what is happening.

    Thanks,
    Katie
