New features and fixes (February 12, 2013)

Hey Everyone!

We’ve just released the latest updates to Nimbus and ShootQ. In this release, we’ve added some of your most frequently requested features. Our hope was to build out some of the more business specific features now during your slower shooting months, but busy booking months. Take a look at the latest updates:

1. Discounts – You now have the ability to apply discounts to packages when creating an order or a proposal. Learn More >>

2. Expanded Analytics – Dive deeper into your analytics history and increase your reporting capabilities with the ability to review data older than one year. Take A Look >>

3. Online Appointment Confirmation – Let your client know immediately that their appointment was accepted with a new an automatic email. Read More>>>

4. Email Invoice Link - Easily send a direct invoice link to your Customer via email with this new feature. See How>>

5. Relationship Update - The Relationship Tab got a face lift! The 'behind-the-scenes' changes made in this release will offer more flexibility for future updates too.

Minor Updates and Bug Fixes: 

  • Location Variable Update - The variable now includes the name of the location.
  • Filter By Referrer – You can now filter by referrers when in the Relationships Tab.
  • Product Options Add Ons – All product options selected are visible in the contract when using the variables ‘Product Package and Contents’ or ‘Package Contents’.
  • P3 Collection Notice Update – The payment email and Client Portal confirmations now say, “The payment will be processed at 10pm PST.”

    We are still having problems with the relationships and jobs associated.  Also just noticed the contact information is gone.  Some have the relationships to events put when I click on it says that I am not authorized to view it.

    There is a email address associated with both the Bride and Groom I'm not sure whats going on with that but seems to be fixed. I attached a screen shot of the calendar, I use the latest version of chrome on a HP - PC. 

    By the way I still have 2 brides that have told me in the last 24 hr that they are unable to save their Questionnaires. They are getting frustrated and that makes me very unhappy.

    Glad to see the discount option added.  Now is there any consideration to allowing clients to enter a promo code when building packages?  I know this has been a long awaited feature by many.

    Thanks for the feedback and letting us know that you are experiencing some issues.  We have our dev team diving into the issues you have explained and we will be addressing them quickly.  Rhee the sales tax issue you are having is only in Firefox, to work around this use Chrome or Safari.  We will be posting the resolutions as soon as we can.

    I search for clients via the relationship tab, and i've noticed that now I have to open the search bar, it's not enabled automatically.  After searching,  I then get a warning that I am only able to manage 1000 contacts at once (??) and I have to click out of this.  It's annoying that to simply locate a client file, I have to do two extra steps than I did before. 

    Also, in the client record I'm not seeing the shoot info such as date/status.  It's left blank.  So when I'm trying to locate a client shoot and click on events and roles, I have no way of identifying the shoot I'm looking for.  Is anyone else finding this?

    Not working in Firefox either, tried Explorer but atrium kicked me out saying explorer was not supported. I am not sure if this is just because I have and old version, I don't update it because I don't use it.

    currently looking at simply studio management software, I figure if I have to spend time messing around with this I might as well spend it learning a new program. I am baffled as to why so many business owners including myself put up with this sh--! Maybe it's because we are so in love with love and art and photography.

    But this is a business and should be run as such SQ, Pictage, Atrium is a service provider that is a very costly expense to that business, it should work! They made almost 10000.00 from me and my clients last year you think they could provide what they promise. I signed way back when they were promising everything would be connected that you would upload an image one time and it would available for your gallery, blog, FB, ect some would argue that this is possible, I say BS!!! I jumped in with both feet and believed the promises, so I have 7 brands, websites, clients, vendor partners. I feel stuck and deceived.

    Dana:  I usually find my dead leads under the History in the Shoots Tab (It's at the bottom of the list on the left).  Did that stop working with this update?

    The email confirmation for the scheduled appointment doesn't work for me.

    After I approve the date/time I get this (a blank message with "Appointment Request" subject from my templates):

    Thanks, Travis. I just tried it, also, and it worked for me, too. I am going to give it until tomorrow, in case it is only working intermittently for now, since this kind of stuff can be buggy. I do hope it means that it is fixed.

    Nathan: I never looked there before, but after checking, dead leads are not there either.  I usually search in the "inactive" tab of relationships.  I can't find dead leads no matter where I look.

    Still not working on my system, Michelle tried it from maxathon browser on a different computer and it is not working either.

    what browser are you using? I just tried it using chrome with no luck, I currently have a bride trying to make changes,

    Katie, (Or whomever from ShootQ) Still having trouble finding how to simply send/update  an invoice. Upon reading your  "New features and fixes (February 12, 2013) post and upon the prompting of: " 4. Email Invoice Link - Easily send a direct invoice link to your Customer via email with this new feature. See How>>"  I clicked "see how" andIt says I do not have access to that information and to contact the owner of this Zendesk. Have spent days trying to get this information. It's crucial I receive instructions and a response. Thank you.

    Still waiting on the no-brainer feature: an automatic or manual way to insert an agreed upon late fee to invoices not paid by a certain date. Here's the discussion that's been brought up for years now! http://help.shootq.com/entries/202113-How-do-I-add-Late-Fees-onto-an-Invoice-

    One more thing, In the analytics section it would be nice to be able to see how many weddings we have booked for the year rather than what was booked each month. Such as 3 wedding in May and 4 in June.

    It initially seems like such a daunting task to switch but it would save us a lot of time posting on forums that apparently aren't even read by SQ.

    I see it a lot. For important customers I have to call them or look in correspondence for Re email. Otherwise I will not find out. Looked in spam - it wasn't there. It would be terrific if we could have what Constant Contact provides - data on if the customer opened email and at what time...  Or mad mimi webiste - they tell you how many customers were engaged meaning read email or clicked on links. We already have some of that functionality when they opening the proposal - it tell us when it was opened last. Why cat the same idea be applied to emails...

    It would be very helpful if we could track when customer reads the email we sent from shoot q. Notify us by email option. I find out that a lot of my customers fill out the form (questionnaire) in IE (the most commonly used browser) and it doesn't save it or send me the email... So those who really wanted to hire me had to email me and follow up. But how many are out there that gave up? Same thing with pricing link - doesn't work in IE. So they don't submit the request for quote. At least if I could see if email was delivered or went to spam and if it was opened and what time... If they didn't open it but they asked for it - I would know to call and follow up.
    Right now I have to call and follow up with everybody. Because I don't know what is the % but my emails end up in spam or opened with IE and they do not work....

    Like madmimi site can track how many people received email and how many opened... It cant be that hard. Or constant contact...

    Love the shootq though! Just have to manually check by calling every time I sent the email or form if it worked.... You would think it should just work...

    Thanks for fixing the venue name.

    The expanded analytics is a good start. It would be nice to have that feature added to the financials as well as the booking history. Instead of by year it should be by a range. This way I can compare years without flipping back and forth.

    Ok I know I'm ranting but I have brides that are spending time answering 40 questions only to find out they can not save them. I'm desperate, is it my internet? I am in the midwest on a broadband cable connection with insight owned by comcast owned by time warner.  Using wifi, PC, windows 7. What else could it be? here is the link to the questionnaire (sample wedding booked status) If you are able and willing leave me a note in an open field (which they all are) maybe it's just me. Anyone else still having problems?

    java is up to date, AVG turned off, browser is up to date, buttons on the forum obviously working but I am still unable to save info to a questionnaire.

    Hi Guys,

    Something funny is happening with the packages to my clients. I give them 3 options. They chose one, the other two got denied but for some reasons the package is being charged taxes 3 times. How do I change that? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you

    I had not heard of Pixifi but will check them out. Simply does not have the pricing pages so I would miss that. The task of moving has kept me from switching so far but every year I stay I just get more locked in. I was ready to change before the holidays but decided to stay and wait for the updates.

    I'm wondering if I'm experiencing the same issue that Elena has mentioned above.  I've sent emails to a client this week and only after I've called her to follow up did I learn that she did respond to my email...but I never received it.  I do cc: myself on each email and did receive those.  But I've sent several emails to a bunch of different clients this week and haven't heard back from any of them, so now I'm concerned that they've responded and I'm not receiving them.  Is there a known bug or issue with this?
