New features and fixes (February 12, 2013)

Hey Everyone!

We’ve just released the latest updates to Nimbus and ShootQ. In this release, we’ve added some of your most frequently requested features. Our hope was to build out some of the more business specific features now during your slower shooting months, but busy booking months. Take a look at the latest updates:

1. Discounts – You now have the ability to apply discounts to packages when creating an order or a proposal. Learn More >>

2. Expanded Analytics – Dive deeper into your analytics history and increase your reporting capabilities with the ability to review data older than one year. Take A Look >>

3. Online Appointment Confirmation – Let your client know immediately that their appointment was accepted with a new an automatic email. Read More>>>

4. Email Invoice Link - Easily send a direct invoice link to your Customer via email with this new feature. See How>>

5. Relationship Update - The Relationship Tab got a face lift! The 'behind-the-scenes' changes made in this release will offer more flexibility for future updates too.

Minor Updates and Bug Fixes: 

  • Location Variable Update - The variable now includes the name of the location.
  • Filter By Referrer – You can now filter by referrers when in the Relationships Tab.
  • Product Options Add Ons – All product options selected are visible in the contract when using the variables ‘Product Package and Contents’ or ‘Package Contents’.
  • P3 Collection Notice Update – The payment email and Client Portal confirmations now say, “The payment will be processed at 10pm PST.”

    When trying to add discount it says:

     

    400 Bad Request

    The server could not comply with the request since it is either malformed or otherwise incorrect.

    Amount must be a valid number.

     

    Also, when trying to change Salex Tax it says:

     

    {"success": false, "error": "Amount must be a valid number."}

    Hi Sara, It looks like there may be something funny happening in Firefox only. I've been able to successfully use this feature on Safari and Chrome, and are working with Developers to get this resolved for Firefox. I'll post again, but thanks for bringing this to my attention! You can also reference your ticket if you'd like to follow up with Support in the meantime.

    What should we do for the workaround with the sales tax?  I'm having the same problem.

    I don't know if this has anything to do with these recent features/bug fixes, but I have tried to schedule an email for tomorrow morning (don't like sending them out at midnight, even though I am working then). I have tried on Chrome and Safari browsers on my iMac and the temp screen that says "Saving" just stays up without the email actually getting scheduled. It's like it 'hangs' or something. Anyway, I just had to send the email, instead of scheduling it. I also created a ticket, in case it has nothing to do with the recent updates.

    I search for clients via the relationship tab, and i've noticed that now I have to open the search bar, it's not enabled automatically.  After searching,  I then get a warning that I am only able to manage 1000 contacts at once (??) and I have to click out of this.  It's annoying that to simply locate a client file, I have to do two extra steps than I did before. 

    Also, in the client record I'm not seeing the shoot info such as date/status.  It's left blank.  So when I'm trying to locate a client shoot and click on events and roles, I have no way of identifying the shoot I'm looking for.  Is anyone else finding this?

    Thanks for fixing the venue name.

    The expanded analytics is a good start. It would be nice to have that feature added to the financials as well as the booking history. Instead of by year it should be by a range. This way I can compare years without flipping back and forth.

    Thanks for the feedback and letting us know that you are experiencing some issues.  We have our dev team diving into the issues you have explained and we will be addressing them quickly.  Rhee the sales tax issue you are having is only in Firefox, to work around this use Chrome or Safari.  We will be posting the resolutions as soon as we can.

    We have been working to fix the bugs listed here, along with some other ones that popped up with this release.  We pushed out a small release last night to fix the following bugs. 

    Corrected Bugs
    1.     Scheduled emails are now working again
    2.     Relationships actions 1,000 limit removed
    3.     Shoot information now showing in Relationships section
    4.     Formatting for Stratus Booking Proposal Add-ons cleaned up
    5.     Appointment email confirmation now optional rather than mandatory

    We will be doing another release today to correct another handful that we were unable to be completed in time for the release last night.  We appreciate your patience while we work diligently to get these bugs fixed.

    All of our links from photographers to events are broken.  This is not good!  I have checked in Chrome and Firefox.

    We implemented some great features this time around, it also caused some bugs to pop up.  We just pushed out another small release to fix some of the issues that crept up.

    Corrected Bugs
    1.     Now able to remove a Tax in all Browsers
    2.     Now able to add Discount in all Browsers      
    3.     Able to assign roles to contacts.            
    4.     Resolved errors preventing ability for clients to Book online
    5.     Search Bar moved back to original position
    6.     New Item "On the Fly" selection missing
    7.     Financials History report updated to go back more than 12 months

    If you experience any issues, please submit a ticket to us.  It is very helpful if you can give specific examples of what you were doing when you experienced the problem along with screenshots (if possible).

    Though, in my chrome browser on Windows 8, I can't see ANY information (it looks as though a gray bar is covering up the information).  We've seen this sort of thing intermittently on 4 different computers running max OS and Windows 7 and 8, where information in certain panes (like "Conflicts" especially) is entirely or partially obscured by what looks like a formatting glitch.  :(

    Interesting:  I found a workaround on it:  If I pressed CTRL  and mouse SCROLL UP and DOWN again and again and again and again, changing the text and magnification size, then analytics pane slowly revealed itself, pixel by pixel until it was all visible.  And it seems to be fine on whatever new pane I link to.

    Hi Guys,

    Something funny is happening with the packages to my clients. I give them 3 options. They chose one, the other two got denied but for some reasons the package is being charged taxes 3 times. How do I change that? Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you

    I posted this as a support request, but it probably belongs here:

    I have now had two separate clients who have completed the questionnaire. They then hit save & submit, and the button goes gray, but the submission never goes through. One was doing it on an iPad and unsure about the other.

    I tested this myself by completing one using Chrome, and had the exact issue described... the submit button goes gray, but it never goes through.

    This is obviously a serious issue, since they've usually spent over 20 minutes filling it out only to lose everything!

    Still a bug with relationships. If we search for a groom's name it will not show us the job associated with him but will give us the option of removing him only.

    Also we need clients to be able to make payments using P3! Our clients don't like to have to call us every time they want to make a partial payment on an invoice. They need to be able to make their own partial payments.

    One more thing, In the analytics section it would be nice to be able to see how many weddings we have booked for the year rather than what was booked each month. Such as 3 wedding in May and 4 in June.

    Josh -  I had the same issue on Feb 13th.  One of my brides filled out her questionnaire, hit save & submit, and the button goes gray, but the submission never goes through.  

    Katie - Has this been fixed now?  I obviously don't want my brides becoming frustrated with this process!

    We are still having problems with the relationships and jobs associated.  Also just noticed the contact information is gone.  Some have the relationships to events put when I click on it says that I am not authorized to view it.

    This is ridiculous is SQ still in Beta too? I thought this was at least a working program. we were beta testers for proshots (the very first program of its kind) and it was not as frustrating as working with pictage. I have clients trying to fill out questionnaires that CAN NOT save their info. I make my living creating images not screwing around with this software get your shit together!!

    I just received a blank questionnaire from a client. I am not going to have them jump through hoops by emailing all their information that was asked on the questionnaires. We need to know as soon as this is functioning again, so we can tell our clients. (squeaky wheel)

    I just created a test client and it appears to work now.  Sent questionnaire, filled out questionnaire, hit Save & Submit, and it worked.  Of course I'm not completely sure if this means something was fixed or if this just happened to work one time.  Some feedback from ShootQ support would be fantastic.

    Thanks, Travis. I just tried it, also, and it worked for me, too. I am going to give it until tomorrow, in case it is only working intermittently for now, since this kind of stuff can be buggy. I do hope it means that it is fixed.

    what browser are you using? I just tried it using chrome with no luck, I currently have a bride trying to make changes,

    Not working in Firefox either, tried Explorer but atrium kicked me out saying explorer was not supported. I am not sure if this is just because I have and old version, I don't update it because I don't use it.

    currently looking at simply studio management software, I figure if I have to spend time messing around with this I might as well spend it learning a new program. I am baffled as to why so many business owners including myself put up with this sh--! Maybe it's because we are so in love with love and art and photography.

    But this is a business and should be run as such SQ, Pictage, Atrium is a service provider that is a very costly expense to that business, it should work! They made almost 10000.00 from me and my clients last year you think they could provide what they promise. I signed way back when they were promising everything would be connected that you would upload an image one time and it would available for your gallery, blog, FB, ect some would argue that this is possible, I say BS!!! I jumped in with both feet and believed the promises, so I have 7 brands, websites, clients, vendor partners. I feel stuck and deceived.

    java is up to date, AVG turned off, browser is up to date, buttons on the forum obviously working but I am still unable to save info to a questionnaire.
