Product Options would appear on the Pricing Pages...

It would be great if my clients could see the product options on the pricing pages. Right now, I have to have every size canvas wraps, fine art prints, parent albums, albums, etc, as separate items.  Having product options on the pricing page would GREATLY reduce to size of the page and make the choices less daunting for my clients since they could choose the size of their fine art print through ONE product options area.

Hear, Hear! This is one of my biggest pet peeves, I also wish it would show the options I choose in my package listings. When I create a package, it lets me choose options for a product (i.e. 30 page, 8x10 album, black leather cover), but it doesn't show any of these values in the package. Why have a feature that isn't fully integrated and doesn't work as it should?

This is a such a great feature that we can now do advanced options for products, but it's nearly useless if the clients can't see them on our pricing pages when they are booking. I wish I hadn't taken time to create the options since they can't see them (for instance I have a Senior portrait basic session and I want them to see the option to upgrade that session to add more locations and friends, but don't want to create them all separately!) However, I'll have to if they can't see them in the pricing page, otherwise they really won't know the option exists.

Anybody? It's nice that ShootQ rolls out new features, but it would be great if they would fix what seem like oversights in some of the existing features. The options also don't show up on the contract, so it just says 8x10 album, nothing about page count or cover options.

The programmers can only work on what their bosses tell them to. And I have to assume they're concentrating on Nimbus right now. Which means any new features to ShootQ (or fixes in this case) will be a long time coming. Just wished they hadn't brought out even the option for "product options" until it was fully developed. Now ShootQ users know it can be done but it's useless in its current form.

True, I can only hope they are working on Nimbus now, they've been tempting me with that for a long time as well. It's incredibly frustrating when a feature is promised or introduced and turns out to be far less than it was hyped to be. From my brief experience with Pictage, it is a pretty slow moving corporation.

ShootQ

Hey everyone,

When we originally came up with this feature it was to improve the clutter of the pricing control panel in the ShootQ settings.  Most people had a product list with albums of every size, finish, color, etc.  Users then created many packages, usually duplicates, with the only difference being the minor change in album size, finish or color, e.g. Gold Package - Red Album, Gold Package - Black Leather Album, etc.  This new feature allowed users to create a single package, and select the proper option before sending the proposal to the client.

We knew adding this feature wouldn't solve everyone's problems, but it was sufficient to help a good portion of our users.  Allowing users to be able to choose from the pricing options is the obvious next step.  I'd really like to hear from you how you'd like this to work.  Do you want customers to be able to change the pricing options for items in the package?  Would you like this only for add-ons?  Any ideas you can send my way would be greatly appreciated!

I think everyone just wants clients to be able to see the drop downs when they view a pricing page and request a proposal. For the end user to be able to see the various options and be able to easily upgrade their package. Even though we can create a proposal with the options, they can't see them them intially so this makes communication pretty difficult. This is true for albums, but also right now for holiday cards, if I could send my pricing page and they could actually view the cards and their associate options it would make my life SO much easier!!

Thanks for the response Justin! Ideally, I would like to have a pricing page on my website with a couple different packages, and an option to build your own. If they could change the page count of the album in a package, that would be amazing, but not completely necessary. Right now, on my public pricing page, it just says 8x10 or 11x14 album, and doesn't reference the page count or cover at all, so a good first step would be to display those variables on client facing pages. As it stands now, to use the public pricing page, I would still need to make a different item for each album option. See here: https://app.shootq.com/public/~1753a3/pricing/current

This is an interesting thought to kick around for ShootQ. For the record, we've got three developers on the ShootQ project, and three developers on the Nimbus project. Only one of those people is the same person (one of those guys is swapping between projects.)

Jim Collins who is the CEO, has told us he wants us to get back to a 4-8 week release interval for ShootQ come hell or high water. So that's what we're doing. The next release is slated for early-mid November.

I just took another look at this-by far the absolute biggest problem is that the product options do not display in my contracts. This is absolutely unacceptable. I could live with them not showing on the public pricing page, but I now have a bunch of contracts that just say 8x10 album, or 11x14 album, and I have no idea if they are 20, 30, 40, or even 60 pages. I'm not sure how this is a sufficient solution if it doesn't make it into the contract. Please stop kicking the thought around, and just implement it correctly.

Ideally, for me, it would work like this:

1.  User selects add-on, let's say a print.

2. A drop-down appears and asks for the size.

3. A size is chosen and the price appears.

4. Then select the number of prints.

Quantity and total price for the item are displayed.

Thanks.

Thanks.

If we could just get a QUICK Fix so that they SEE what the option IS in the billing/legal.  Like in the attached screenshot - I can't even tell what album options were or how many hours.
