Hi Guys,
Two quick ideas that I think will make ShootQ even better.
1st idea = I've emailed you guys about this one before and I've also put a bug in Jason Aten's ear too. I think being able to see both brand's financials on one report (as an option) would be very cool. We have a corporate and a wedding brand - but as far as the bank is concerned - it's all one company. It would be great to be able to hand them a single chart or graph or whatever that shows our 12 month income forecast as well as our sales totals and history. A little button to select Brand A, Brand B or Both Brands would seem to make sense from my stand point... other areas would be outstanding invoices - to be able to see them all on one screen would be helpful instead of having to click up at the top and switch brands to see the other reports... See what I mean?
2 - This would be amazing. A place where I could literally import my monthly costs. Examples - Rent, Salaries, Independent Contractors, Fuel & Hotel, Marketing, Health Care costs, Insurance, Income Tax, Membership & Association Fees, Loans & Debt repayments, and other one-time costs. ShootQ would then be able to show you your daily, weekly, monthly & yearly actual costs - and then be able to divide those costs proportionately based on what you sold each (day, week, month or year).
That would help me run my business better. I guarantee you - it will make more people sign up because as a feature- the cost of goods currently is good - but it is a guess for most people and not quite as accurate as I'd like it to be.
Take some time to think about it -

That would add in one of the features I loved about studio cloud
The financial aspect is what I hanging me up a bit on this...I don't wnat to use Quickbooks AND ShootQ. I would even be fine with a simple system...an Excel-like ledger that would be more dynamic than Excel so that I can see reports on how I spend my money, etc.

I went to PPA and they said the only reason they don't recommend ShootQ is because of the lack of financials.
I have used ShootQ for a while now and I love everything about it except for this area. It's like I"m screaming down the race track and then hit a brick wall. I can't enter so many other things that affect the total picture of my business. Gift cards? Not in a sane way that makes sense. What about purchasing props, rent, paying second shooters, all of that is required to truly understand what my cost of doing business is. It's the financial piece of this that makes shootq feel like it was designed by photographers, who are notoriously not strong business managers.
I can't use the fancy schmancy charts and graphs that the business section generates (which I would totally love to do), for two reasons: 1. They aren't complete, and 2. I can't drill down on them to see what shoots / etc, make up the total numbers. This functionality must be added. In the meantime, I'm paying $39/month to Quick Books when I'd rather pay it to ShootQ for an integrated financial system. Can't you go talk to Quicken? I'd think the two companies could collaborate!
Totally agree with Maris! This would be so very helpful to have a true integration with Quickbooks --
