Let client initiate additional product order

I am a portrait photographer so I charge a session fee and would like the clients to be able to come back after they see their images and choose to buy a package. The public pricing page page seems to be for new inquiries. This would be an existing client who already has already paid a retainer and has a client portal. Inside that portal I would like them to be able to come back after the shoot and purchase "add-ons" at that time. I don't want to require the client to commit to a large package ahead of time if they want to see the images first.

No replies to this one?  I am interested in this as well.

How do other ShootQ users handle this post-shoot selling dilema?  Please share your solutions.

Thanks!

ShootQ

I really like this idea and feel this is something we're lacking.  I think most photographers handle the ordering/sales session in person and just enter the order into ShootQ.

How would you like the process to flow and what would you want your clients to see?  I'd love to hear some feedback and ideas about this feature.

I think it needs to be available for clients in their login area, so when they say, we were thinking about some getting an engagement portrait/album/whatever, they can just go right into their client area, access the pricing, and simply start shopping! They could select and add on products, and then input the c.c. info and poof! we have an order!

Lara, that definitely makes sense.

How does your pricing differ for clients that have already booked a package?

often times clients book a package without the album. Or they have an engagement session and then the opportunity to buy add on products. Yes, we try to do this in person, but it would be SO AWESOME to generate extra sales by sending clients and link to products available from an engagement session and allowing them to purchase products that way, in an automated process. I do have an online gallery (pickpic) but clients never seem to use that to order products.

ALL of my clients are from out of state...even the portraits...so even if we could show a price list of products (not selling a package), and be able to move around in a more organized fashion...at least be able to send something thru ShootQ.  For my business I use StudioPlus, it has worked for me, and I was hoping that Shoot Q would do all the same things I currently do...but it doesnt look like it as I really wanted to move away from Studioplus

For portrait clients, I send them a pdf with all the options, they can order online on Pictage, but I have a credit in my sessions and require them to come back to me to order, not on Pictage.

1--a "gift certificate" function would be very helpful...to track used/unused and transfer over to QBook as a liability as that is incorporated in my books for tax purposes

2--If the clients could then select what products they wanted by entering in qty and IMAGE NUMBER, then photog could manually enter into invoice...this is how I do it now...I have the client email me their info, and I put in an invoice, as everything is not cut and dry...I do give pricing incentives if they make their own "package" by selecting a wall portrait, gift portrait and miniature...and also give incentives on duplicate prints.  so it gets a bit hairy and is easier to enter myself when I get the info or have them on the phone.

3--let client place the order but not finalize if there may be discounts pending...like in my situation above.  Ideally it would be nice, but prob a lot of work for a system to figure out if a client has put a "approved" package together and generate the discounted price...but I am sure that is wishful thinking.

Years back I used a system called SimplePHoto and the client selected their items and the order came that way as well...

This is my biggest problem with ShootQ, how do you add a post-booking order to a current client? Beyond that I want to make it as easy as possible for my client to add-on to their order whenever they feel like it! The less obstacles people have to deal with the better, when they want to add-on say a matching parent album or more pages for their album or even an album. In my perfect world, there would be another tab under their client portal called add-ons. This would be just like the current add-ons at the time of booking or even better you could customize this as well. A client goes in, adds a second shooter, or whatever, it is added to their order, I get an email and poof another sale. Now, I don't even know how to handle this, so i just don't enter any add-ons into shootq, which is very annoying when trying to figure out financials and track things, the main purpose of shootq. So please consider this as another request for this feature, it would be greatly appreciated, especially when the sales come in!

Excellent idea Kimberly,

First of all, client area MUST have "UPGRADE" or "BUY NEW PRODUCT" option available all the time.

shootQ even should have an option, where client can receive notification, each time the NEW upgrade/package/wholesale option is available for purchase. This should be set by photographer.

Seriously, client area is DULL... Let client be aware of all the upgrades they can get!

Imagine, there is a client who didn't buy the album. The Album add on option should be visible on their page after the booking. Now photographers reduces the price by 20%, client get auto notification about limited time 20% offer. All automatic... They much more willing to get the album now!

C'mon guys wake up!

Joseph

A nudge on this thread... has there been any progress on making this an option??  I have wedding clients who sometimes choose to order their album after the fact.  It would be great if there were some simple way to do this without having to resort to paper and pencil or making a PDF for them to mail back to me.

Any progress on this issue? Just for starters wouldn't it be fairly easy for shootQ to just add the existing add-on options to a tab on the client portal page?

I agree.  There should be a place in the client portal page for clients to see all add-ons.  We often have clients choose to add on an album or want another DVD.

I'm trying out ShootQ and agree 100 percent. Kind of surprised that this isn't already built in. So +1
