ShootQ Market Place - Any winners or duds?

Hi all -

I've been really tempted lately to buy some collections of e-mail or workflows from the ShootQ market place.  However, I've bought stuff like that in the past or even training DVD's and they have been such massive disappointments that I'm now hesitant.  I.e. I don't want to buy a workflow package only to discover that it's really basic and my workflow is already much superior.

So, if anyone has purchased any of the workflow or e-mail packages can you review them?  Are they worth it?  I'm kind of interested in Sara France's stuff, but again... don't want to spend $99+ dollars to get little value.

Thanks,

Thomas

I am in the same boat. So, did you ever buy them?

Yeah... I bought the Katie Van Buren package.  It's nice.  I tweaked it a lot, but it gave me a good idea where to start.

Wow I just bought the KVB questionnaire package and feel ripped off completely!  I seriously want my money back.  I purchased the SF workflow package and it is awesome as well as the Youngren's email templates which are also awesome.  This questionnaire package looks like it was put together in about 5 minutes.  I am very disappointed in it.

So Kelly - Can you give me some examples.  I basically used the KVB package to give myself ideas.  I basically then rewrote everything.  I've been tweaking everything since then.  If you the Sara France workflows, emails, etc. are that much better I'd certainly consider getting them, but I've tweaked mind so far at this point that I don't want to go backwards too much by using a template.

I got the Sara France emails and also the wedding workflows. I have a pretty "robust" studio in that we have a studio manager, a designer and a couple of photographers. We have a very detailed workflow system designed, but the problem has always been making sure everyone does every step all the time, and when it gets busy, some steps just fall through the cracks. What I found with the Sara France worksflow was that I really just needed to see examples of understanding how everything looks and fits together. That's the biggest problem I have with shootq-there are very little examples of how it is used, so you care kind left to your own devices to figure it all out-or pay them extra for personal training. I just need really a book of screen shots of the different features so I can wrap my brain around the system and how to implement my own stuff with it. So I think in that sense, I really just spent $100 to "see" some examples. I think Shootq should offer that freely, but they don't, so you have to pay for it. Was it worth $100 to me? I would say no, but at the same time, I needed confirmation that i was doing it correctly, so for $100, I did get that confirmation.

If you dont have a solid workflow for your studio, and you feel buried and disorganized on that level (you don't have template emails, you dont have a pre-dertermined workflow for production/customer service etc) then I think you'll get tremendous value from it-it's a template that you can use to tweak your own workflow, and if you don't have one worked out yet, then it's super great. As a studio, it took us years to develop our workflows, our email templates, forms, etc. so if your studio is young, I would say these items are of worthwhile value. Or if you just need a confirmation how how to set it up, how to wrap your workflow into the shootq format, then it's a time saver in that you feel confident in moving forward. hope that makes sense!

We purchased the Sara France Complete Wedding Bundle. We feel it was not worth the price, maybe for $99 we would not have been so upset with it.

Main issues we have are the lack of actual templates. These are just her emails, with her name all over them inside along with numerous typos and grammar errors throughout. It would have honestly been easier for us to just create all of them from scratch rather than filter through all of them and have to re-write every thing. Even as a base starting point, you will need to read it, then delete it and re-write it if you want your business to not sound... uneducated.

I am thinking about purchasing some email templates from the Marketplace...but am I just purchasing the wording or are there design elements to them as well?
