Files

In Nimbus, the Files section provides you with an area to upload various types files so that they may be publicly accessible.  This is especially useful should you prefer to send clients a PDF of your pricing in ShootQ.  You can upload it to the Files section of Nimbus and include the link in your ShootQ email templates.

Upload

Upload a new file by clicking the "Upload New Files" button.  Ensure you are the copyright holder or have sufficient rights to use the material by agreeing to the dialog:

By checking this box, I warrant that I am the copyright holder to the content of the files I am uploading, or have secured proper licensing to use the content from the copyright holder. I acknowledge that I am the sole editor of the content of my website, and will indemnify Photo Holdings, Inc. and its affiliates, assigns, heirs or controlled entities of liability arising from the use of this audio file on my website.

After agreeing to the copyright dialog, select from where you'd like to import files.  Drag files into the drop zone or select them from your computer.  When finished, click Done.

You can edit the name and assign a category by clicking the Edit button.  Remove a file by clicking the Delete button.

Note:  Individual files are limited to 5MB

Finding the link to the files is not working correctly.  If you right click on the link it gives only the back-end link which is useless to our clients.  If you click on view/play it opens the link in a new tab however that link seems to be a 1 time use sort of link and generates an error if you email it and open it on another computer.  Here's the error and link:

Link:

ShootQ

Looks like I gave you bad information!  You can right-click the "View/Play" button and copy that link.  This should be in the format: http://mysite.photosit.es/files/XYZ

As you say, the filename links to the internal area.  I've corrected the article.

Is it possible to add an upload/replace functionality to Files?  I just uploaded a price list and created a ShootQ email template and it got me thinking.   When I need to change prices I'm going to have to delete the current file, upload a new one and then go back to the ShootQ template and change the link there (assuming I remember that I need to).  Also, if I send out a link to that document today and make some changes next week whoever has the link will get a dead link because I'm going to delete the file.  It would be great to keep the link the same so all I would have to do was replace the file and that change wouldn't affect anything else.

Ben - That's definitely one of those, "Why didn't I think of that" features!  Good idea, I'm adding it to our list.

Thanks,
