Account Backup

You can now easily backup all your data in ShootQ.  Navigate to the Download Account Data control panel in the Settings tab.

Important Notes

  • The backup is created in the background. It could take awhile, depending on how many brands and shoots you have.
  • When the backup is complete, you'll get an email with download instructions.
  • The backup will be a ZIP file that contains your contacts, dossiers and invoices for each shoot.
  • ShootQ saves the most recent backup of your account.  When you request a backup, the existing backup file stored by ShootQ will be overwritten.
  • Your backup will be password-protected and is for your eyes only!

 Password Options:

  • System generated
  • Account owner password
  • Specify a password

Once ShootQ creates your backup, you'll receive a link to download the ZIP file.  The ZIP file contains:
  • A folder called "contacts" with CSV and vCard files of all your contacts.
  • Folders for each brand in your account.
  • Each shoot is a sub-folder under the brand folder.  Each contains the shoot dossier PDF (events, relationships, booked package details, and contracts) and PDFs of each invoice.

This is wonderful! Great news. It goes a long way toward being comfortable about one's data.

And if you can add a feature to download this information in an/multiple XML file(s), where data can be analyzed locally, I'd love you forever.

What am I missing?  I don't see a "Backup" icon on my Settings page.

Ron - make sure you're logged in as the account "owner" - the username you created at account signup time.

Hi Ryan

Im sorry, but that doesn't make much sense to me.  I've only got 1 name to log in with right?  BTW, what happen to the "Join us today (Tues) at 1pm PST." webinar?  I get there and it says it's over?

Oh wait... I see the icon now.  LOL, I don't know how I missed it before.  Perhaps I was looking for an icon with a large red square around it?  Who knows.  But, now for the webinar... ???

Ron,

It looks like the screenshot above is out of date.  You'll want to click on the icon labeled, "Download Account Data".  I'll have the screenshot updated appropriately.

Got it.  So do I need a special invite to join the webinar you all were supposed to have at  (Tues) at 1pm PST.  Isn't it now 1:13 pm PST?  I'm clicking on the link at announcement on the dashboard page and it says webinar is over.  That kind of sucks... it's over all ready?  They must not of had much to talk about :)

Looks like the wrong time was entered into the dashboard notification.  The webinar was at 10am Pacific/1pm Eastern today.  That's our mistake.

Just another bit of information, you can see the upcoming webinar schedule at http://training.shootq.com

Sure.... you just didn't want me to be there, I know how you are! :)  You guys on the west coast need to learn how to tell time, especially since you are usually the ones that are always 3 hours late!  Or are you 3 hours early?  I guess it depends on how you look at it huh?

Not seeing the download option, is there an update needed in order to see it?

Hey Ed, make sure you're logged in as the account owner, the person that originally created the account.  Only the account owner can perform the backup.

Hi Ed, I'm glad I'm not the only one that had that problem at first.  I was able to see the icon to backup after I made sure I was logged out and then when I logged back in It was there.  I ONLY log in using my original account owner name so I'm not sure where Justin is coming from. But then again, those guys on the west coast don't know how to tell time either, so you know... got to consider the source. :)
