How do I email an invoice to a client?

On every invoice, near the billing address, you will see a link to "Send a Reminder."

When you click this link, ShootQ will send an email reminder to the Invoicee, using the Automatic Invoice Email TemplateThis is the fastest way to get the invoice into the client's hands.

If you have manually booked the shoot, your invoice reminder may not contain the correct verbiage to be appropriate for the situation. The best solution would be to send an email with the Client Area URL and Security Code (like the default Client Portal Information email), which will allow the client to access their invoice, as well.

This doesn't answer the question.  This sends a reminder, not an invoice.  How do you manually send an invoice?

Bump this.   And, I'd love to know how to grab that invoice to print or send to a wedding planner as well.   Thanks!

Luke,

Printing: you can do that directly -- just "view" the invoice in your browser and then select print from the file menu.

Bur, your question made me think of a work around for email -- not perfect, but possibly useful (ShootQ, still need this resolved the right way!)

Here goes:  If you "view" the invoice within ShootQ, you can then select from the file menu to send contents (at least in Safari).  Unfortunately, it seems to maintain the quickbooks download link, and I'mnot sure what that could do (ShootQ?), but this does actually send a copy of the invoice via email.

Yep,

Shootq. You sent me this link but this is to send a "reminder" Doesn't really answer my question. The only time I'm prompted to send the invoice is immediately after I make one....Booo!

Hi,

I need to send a invoice to my Client's Mother (for a print order) but we don't want Mom to see or have access to the bride's Client Login.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

@Meridith-If I were you, I would "print" the file to a PDF file, and then email that PDF to the mother?!  Or I guess you could set up the mother as a relationship so she can have her own client login?

I'd really like to send an invoice in an email too. The "reminder" feature seems impersonal.

Thanks!

I also have to email deposit invoices to my clients.  What I do, as stated above (almost) is (in MACOS/Safari) click to print, then click the PDF button which has a funtion EMAIL PDF - this puts it into MAIL and ready to email - BUT I have to do a work around here - i have to go to the clients shoot or contact info and cut and paste their email into the email window.

I was looking at this thread hoping to find a better solution, but i guess there is none- SHOOTQ - HELP PLEASE!  THIS IS IMPORTANT!

Is it possible to just send an invoice?  Does a shoot always have to be attached to it? I have a client that has ordered various products and services that have already been taken care of..I don't need a contract attached..just need to send her a bill.  Am I missing something?

I too would like to know how to attach invoices in sending email using SHOOTQ vs. creating a pdf and them using my own email account (Outlook) to send one out...that's too much :)

I also would love to just send an invoice to a client.  I have several people from weddings like extended family that email orders to me instead of going through the website...or parents that order parent books.  It would be awesome to just create the client in ShootQ and then create an invoice to send to them.  That very purpose is one of the main reasons I bought this software.  I don't want to force them to log into the portal and have to click through to find the invoice, I just want a quick & easy link to send them so they can pay for their order.

I have the same question and I feel like it would be a fundamental thing to be able to just email an invoice....I can't imagine that there isn't an easy way to directly do this through ShootQ.

I even tried creating an email template with a *variable* thinking that it might have an "invoice" variable and attach it there, but no such luck.

SHOOTQ....are we missing something???

I have to add that the inability to do this is what's now caused me to look for another option for my client management...very frustrating since I've spent time getting it up and running, purchased templates, etc...now I'm basically going to junk it all and go somewhere else.  What good is it to use this to only be able to pill for a portion of your work with that client???

This is not a good way to communicate if no one from SHOOTQ is going to address these questions.

I just had the same issue and received a good solution on the Pictage forums... I was able to create an email template that had the client security code as a variable. I made the email template look like an invoice notice with instructions on how to use the code. This doesn't solve all the concerns raised above but it provided a good solution for my needs.
