Does anyone genuinely like going to the bank? Granted, it is more fun than the DMV and the drive through window has those admittedly awesome, NASA-like pneumatic tubes that launch your checks like a hamster into space, but would you really go there and wait in line just to hang out with the Tellers? I doubt it. Well, now you don't have to! Set up a direct integration Merchant Account like Authorize.net, Skipjack or Beanstream and your clients can pay their invoices online through ShootQ. We'll send the payment to your merchant account for processing and mark the invoice as 'Paid' as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Visit these articles for information on using ShootQ with a Google Checkout account or to learn how to link ShootQ to external shopping cart or unsupported merchant account.
Once you have your merchant account set up, the first thing you need to do is connect it with your ShootQ account.
Settings > Invoices & Payments > Online Payments
Start by clicking the New Merchant Account button.
Add a Nickname for your account and select your merchant account from the Merchant Type Drop-down menu.
Select what type of credit cards you can take with your merchant account by clicking the checkboxes next to them.
When adding an Authorize.net account, you will see two new fields that require information entered. This is information that you will need to get from Authorize.net, but this article on the Authorize.net site should help you find your API Login ID and Transaction Key.
When adding a Skipjack account, you will see two new fields that require information entered. This is information that you will need to get from Skipjack, but this article on the Skipjack site should help you find your HTML and Developer Serial Numbers.
When adding a Beanstream account, you will see three new fields that require information entered. This is information that you will need to get from Beanstream, so if you're having trouble finding it you should contact Beanstream for help.

That's it! You will select this as your merchant account when sending Proposals or on individual orders in a Shoot's Billing and Legal section with the Payment Method drop-down menu, which looks just like this in both places:
Just remember, adding a new merchant account does not alter all of your existing invoices. If you want to offer the option to clients booked earlier, you will need to navigate to their orders and make the above adjustment.

What about Paypal? Can I do this as a 3rd party External Link? I tried setting it up but it says that my API user id (which I copied from the ShootQ screen is invalid). Can someone please help me out here? Thanks!
I think they are not allowing any new PayPal integrations. If this is the case, I don't blame them. We are not happy with ours
I'm with Maris. What about Paypal? Where can we find a concrete answer on this?
Yes, please update us on this. Can Paypal be used?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, we do not officially support PayPal. You can get more info about that here: http://help.shootq.com/entries/199026-how-do-i-connect-paypal
You are free to use the third party external link option to link to your PayPal account.
Are there any plans to integrate a service like Square Up?
Are there any plans to integrate a service like Square Up?
Another one for SquareUp integration.
Yes Square up!
Ditto-- PLEASE add SquareUp!!
We do not have any plans for Square Up at this time, but feel free to make a suggestion over at the Feature Request forum for potential future development.
Any plans to integrate Picatge's P3 system as a merchant account? Fees are lower & for us Pictage users would be much more intuitive I think
Eric,
This feature is so close to being released, you'd be amazed. You'll be hearing some big Pictage + ShootQ developments VERY soon.
I just completed my integration of Authorize.net into ShootQ. I am incredibly impressed by the service and the turn-around-time by Photography Merchant Systems. I would highly recommend using Ryan. He was quick to answer all of my questions and he got the application in and everything set up pretty much overnight. I am a web developer also and work with E-commerce systems and usually a set up with Authorize.net takes much longer. Plus his rates were great!
I use intuit with quickbooks....would this work....
SQUARE UP!!!
I also use intuit merchant services with quickbooks. Does anyone have suggestions for how to integrate this?
What do all you shootq users use? I have been using Authorize.net and I feel like they charge so much. Plus the hidden fees they don't tell you about until you sign up just to start your account. I would love an account that I can get the attachment for my smartphone and use that with it. Authorize.net wants another $20 for that! Every other merchant system I have seen offers that for free with no monthly fee!
I'm using Google Checkout and I actually like it. 2.9% + $.30 per transaction. The only thing I don't like is that when a payment is processed through ShootQ using my Google Checkout account, it doesn't automatically show the invoice as paid in ShootQ. Can someone tell me why that is and if this will be resolved in the near future?
@ChrisKellyman, does Google Checkout charge more if you don't have the card to physically scan? That's my only beef with Square Up. I often finalize orders over the phone and so I enter the card # vs scanning it, and they charge more for that. Thanks.
Chris,
Unfortunately, there are no plans to revise out Google Checkout integration. We are unable to get the same response back from Google as our other merchant options, but we wanted to at least provide the payment convenience to your clients.
I would LOVE to see integration with stripe.com. Stripe is essentially a merchant account like Authorize.net but without the monthly fees. Clients can stay within our own branded environment as they would if one used Authorize, and setup on the backend is as easy as when ShootQ added Authorize.
The How-to-Paypal link above doesn't work. Is there another section that details this?
